Behind-the-scenes with TPW!

So,
as I've already mentioned that I had a photoshoot for The Paper Whale.
This past Saturday the 24th,
we went to Peterborough, Ontario to shoot with the products on a farm, with horses, in the woods, and in the stream!
There were 3 models;
David, Mackenzie, and I.
There were 2 photographers;
Dave (main) and Justine (intern-behind the scenes).
And finally,
there were 2 behind the scenes individuals;
Matilda and Kendra.

The Paper Whale is a growing company that produces stationary products such as;
notebooks (lined and blank), paper products, cards etc.
These products are beyond beautiful.

"Crop me in!"

Cropped tops!
Retro, chic, and sexy!

Cropped tops are actually getting real trendy these days.
Plus,
they're adorable!!!
You'd think,
"oh, well I don't want my belly showing.."
or
"oh, well I how on earth do I wear it properly?"

Cropped tops are super duper cute with skinny jeans,
whether they're high rise or low rise,
depending on the look you're going for!

Here are some of the hottest celebs rocking their cropped T's!

Nicole (casual- uggs)

Alessandra (casual/rocker/hippie- by adding the head wrap, it creates a really casual and edgy look)

Kelly (cute/sexy- jewelry layering)

Kate (casual by adding the shirt underneath)

Lindsay (casual), Mischa (rocker/chic), Audrina (done up)

Alessandra (casual/sexy- showing a lot of skin with the low-rise denim shorts)

Whitney (casual- high-waisted shorts and oversized sunglasses)

If you're really feeling creative and original,
then make your own cropped T!
DIY!
Cut up an oversized t-shirt,
and the cutting doesn't necessarily need to be perfectly straight,
in fact,
don't cut it perfectly.
You'll create an edgier top.
Cut it however short you want it,
or however long you want it.
Cut it crooked,
or cut it slanted.
Cut it your way,
seriously.

Get wedged in your wedges!

Platform wedges are beautiful for several reasons.
One, they elongate your legs and make your legs look like they are going on forever!
Two, the sexy platforms gives you that edgy chic look where you can dress your outfit up and down!
Three, they're way easier to walk in than in pumps or high heels!
Four, they're cuter and sexier than flats! (sorry flats, but it's the truth!)

Renee Zellweger makes this paparazzi shot look so bold! Her wedges allows her legs to look long and strong!

Sienna Miller uses her wedges to dress her outfit down for a cute shopping date with Jude Law.

Aldo Shoes- Nethkin $80

Aldo Shoes- Nelton $80

Cynthia Vincent Luella- Twelfth Street $405 (one of my favs! the zipper in the front is vertical and follows up the leg which quickly draws your attention up those forever-long-legs!)

Wedges are so stylish and beautiful for this year, especially!
Take advantage of them while they're in right now,
because these badboys won't be an always-trendy-shoe!

Ikea help?

IKEA is the best place to go for everything-house-things!
But most importantly, they are known for their extremely cheap IKEA food!
Can you believe a hot dog is 50 cents?
Today, my dad and I went to buy a dresser for my room.
We hadn't eaten lunch beforehand so,
we decided to eat some cheap and decent food there!
My dad had a ham and cheese sandwich which was only $2!
And I had roasted chicken and fries for about $5!
I was so excited to eat and dig in when..
I saw a piece of small hair,
kind of similar to little black curly hairs if you know what I mean!
I was so grossed out,
but I took a breath, removed it, and looked away for about a minute,
then enjoyed my meal!

Assembling desks, beds, dressers etc. are a little annoying.
Especially the fact that I had to assemble it on my own since my dad was busy.
I began at 130pm and finished around 6pm.
Yes,
it took a heck of a long time but I managed to finish it!

I unloaded the box and found all of this inside...

About 1/3 of the way through this mission.

The drawers are about done!

Final product!

Okay,
so I wasn't the happiest when I finished this hard labour work!
After sliding in the bottom drawer, I realized that there is a big booboo!
I accidently used this ugly light brown piece of wood as the exterior and used the painted one as the interior!
To be able to fix this madness,
I would have to take the entire thing apart, and reassemble it.
No way am I doing that!
It looks odd,
it looks ugly,
it sticks out like a banana from an apple,
but I will keep it as it is.

This mistake is so typical me.
I knew that this assembling wouldn't go perfectly.
Something HAD to backfire!

Note: If anybody wants to come over and fix this, you are MORE than welcome to!

Nail polish that will make your nails look polished!

Flip-flop weather is quickly approaching..
which means time for a pedicure!!
Doing your nails is so hard,
but going to the Nail Salon is costly..
once you go every so often!
... it all adds up!
So,
just do your nails at home!

Here are some tips and tricks!
- ESSIE is my favourite nail polish brand but OPI is good too, they're a little pricier than the others, roughly around $10. On the cheaper end of things, I like Sally Hansen and Revlon which are around $5-$6!
- Make sure that you have a good nail filer and cuticle cutter! -you want to make sure that your nails are nicely shaped and your cuticles are clean!
- Always have top coat nail polish to perfect those nails at the end!
- Always put on 2 coats of nail polish (the first coat is streaky and thin and the second coat makes the colour bold- do not put more than 2 coats because it'll get too thick!)
- Old nail polish sitting in your room gets thick and sticky.. most nail salons have something called a "thinner" to thin out the nail polish but since our homes are not professional nail salons, add about 4-5 drops of nail polish remover into your nail polish bottle, shake it out, and apply! -it gets thinned out like crazy and becomes brand new!
- Waiting for your nails to dry is such a drag- so dipping your nails in ice cold water allows your nails to dry 10x quicker! (learned from the Tyra Show haha)
- Keep those Q-TIPS handy so that once you've finished applying your nail polish, you can dip your Q-TIP in nail polish remover and remove the mistakes around your nails!

Try these tips out,
I guarantee that your nails will look beautifully polished!

School's OUT!

Writing my very last exam before the summer break felt...
weird.
It feels like this year has been extremely long and now,
it feels abnormal not worrying about studying or writing essays!
But I love this feeling!
Now,
I can read any book that I want,
not having to worry about reading my school readings.
Now,
I can go out out out outttt,
instead of having to stay in and write essays.
This feeling is so amazing,
that I can't even describe this sensational sensation!
I finished my last essay on Saturday, April 17
and decided to go out and celebrate with a couple of girlfriends!

Lovely night!

Study hard for your exams, guys!
If you're already done,
then enjoy your summer break!!

Goodbye school,
Hello summer!!

white&denim

When has the white-tee and denim ever gone out of style?
It's a classic and everybody's rocking it!
Your white top doesn't necessarily need to be a t-shirt or a tank top,
it may be an oversized shirt, a boyfriend-fit blouse, anything!
Pair it with a pair of denim shorts, skinnys, or boyfriend-fit jeans!
Add a leather or rhinestone belt, a hat, or jewelry.
Or even dress them up with a pair of heels, or down with wedges, sandals, boots, or sneakers!!
This famous and casual look is your opportunity to make it your own style.

Here are some stylish celebs wearing their white&denim in different styles.

Hilary Duff- white&denim with hat

Kate Moss- white&denim with belt, light vest, and shades

Miley Cyrus- white&denim with jewelry and vest (she still has that rocker edge to this look- fab!)

Audrina Patridge- white&denim with mini shoulder purse and shades

Blake Lively- white&denim with a chain strap leather purse

Shenae Grimes- white&denim with belt and sneakers (one of my fav looks!)

Nicole Richie- white&denim with a pair of black suede boots and shades

Megan Fox- white&denim with a belt, shades, and a light cardigan

Lauren Conrad- white&denim with light brown leather belt that matches the purse and shades (the top tucked in adds a little extra chic-ness)

Kate Hudson- white&denim with cowboy pearl purse, necklaces and shades

Vanessa Hudgens- white&denim with black heels, sequined clutch, belt, and jewelry

Kate Bosworth- white&denim with brown leather messenger bag, hat, and high-waisted jeans

Anyone can pull off this white&denim look,
the key thing is to make it your own!
